Yeah, wow, a laptop, I'm so glad you 'Assumed' I would want a laptop! I was actually thinking of a desktop that is expandable, performs far better then any iMac, costs a lot less then a Mac Pro..... And Windows 7 is pretty damn good and flash works on it...

What interface/app are you using to watch video and from what streaming source?
From what you explain I would guess you are running h.264 streams that may be beyond your Macs capability. My single 1.8 7448 G4 would easily outperform your dual 867 and I can't go above 480p h.264.
For the best video playback experience on your hardware I would restrict it to 480p and lower h.264 and DivX/XviD up to 720p. It's also all about the player you use. On PowerPC chips Quicktime generally uses up to double the CPU vs. VLC or Mplayer.
Give me specifics about codec and apps used and I can help you solve this issue no matter what video card you have.

those arent themes. the temp and weather are done by using GeekTool (http://projects.tynsoe.org/en/geektool/).

In the world of print, there are two ways to receive newspapers and magazines: single copies on the newsstand, or via subscription delivery. Subscription delivery is traditionally a lot cheaper than via the newsstand. The main reason for that is because the publisher knows demographic information about you, and they use that information to attract advertisers to the publication. Would anyone recommend carbon copy cloner to make the switch to a Sata Drive?
Also once I've cloned the existing HD how do I go about telling the PPC that I want to use the Sata drive as boot drive? is it the startup page in system preferences?

For startup disk just click on system preferences and click on "Startup Disk" shown circled below. Just select the disk you want to boot from and select restart.

Also contributing to the delay is the time spent in developing the new ear buds. Mr. Jobs said the studied 10,000 ears or someting right? so the could have been developing the iphone pod set. the head set that is a fasion statement and a music player. great sound quality built into a stereo wireless headset that hooks up to iphone. like the first itunes enabled phone commercial with the guy walking and his shadow is dancing, and then answers a call,and then keeps on going :) this pod set will be the next big thing;) :D :p
